    Introduction
Shin-Okubo is known for its busy streets and nonstop foot traffic, but you can still find places where you can slow down for a relaxed brunch. This time, I visited The Bake Factory, a bakery café on Okubo-dori in Shin-Okubo, and tried two of their croissant-based menu items—one savory and one sweet.

The Bake Factory is a bakery café that opened in December 2024. It’s located along Okubo-dori, about a two-minute walk from JR Shin-Okubo Station.

This was my first visit, and I stopped by a little after 10 a.m. on a weekday.

Inside the Café and a Look at the Menu

The interior has a Korean café-inspired design and offers 32 seats. On the right side after you enter, there are seats with a view of Okubo-dori, giving the space an open feel.

There are many two-person tables, and some seats have power outlets available. On the left side of the entrance, you’ll find a display lined with many varieties of croissants. There is also a kitchen area further inside, and the croissants may be baked in-house.

What I Tried: Egg Mayo Croissant and Fresh Orange Cream Croissant

Here’s what I ordered this time.

Egg Mayo Croissant (480 yen) + Americano Set (440 yen)
I paired the Egg Mayo Croissant with an Americano set. With so many croissant options on the menu, it’s no surprise the croissant itself was crisp and buttery, with a satisfying flavor. The egg mayo filling matched well, making it an easy brunch choice.

Fresh Orange Cream Croissant (630 yen) + Earl Grey Set (490 yen)
I also tried the manager’s recommended Fresh Orange Cream Croissant with an Earl Grey set. It’s a dessert-style croissant combining fresh orange, whipped cream, and a crisp croissant dusted with powdered sugar. It wasn’t overly sweet or heavy, and it felt just right for breakfast or brunch.

    Wrap-up

The Bake Factory is a croissant-focused bakery café in Shin-Okubo with both savory and sweet options. Even though Okubo-dori is busy on weekdays, the café itself felt relatively quiet, so it was easy to spend time at a relaxed pace.

This visit focused on one savory and one sweet croissant, but there were other combinations that caught my attention—like Dubai chocolate and bulgogi—so I’d like to return again.

If you’re curious, it’s worth stopping by.
