    Introduction

This article features the renewed Starbucks Reserve® Cafe Shinjuku Marui Main 2F, a new Starbucks format that opened on September 1, 2025. Blending Milan’s bar culture with Japan’s kissaten traditions, the cafe operates as a bakery-forward concept. We visited around 9:00 a.m. on a weekday, and it was nearly full despite being two months after opening.

Compared with the previous tenant, the interior layout makes the seat spacing narrower and the apparent number of seats larger.
A key feature is the Princi Italian bakery lineup: the flagship Cornetti, along with donuts, quiche, cheesecake, apple pie, and more.

We ordered Today’s Coffee (590 yen) iced. Note that sizes start from Tall here, so those who usually pick Short should be aware.
The Classic Double Tall Latte (750 yen) is formulated sweeter than a standard café latte.

From the bakery, we tried the Cornetti (380 yen) and Cornetti with Hazelnut Cream (470 yen). The Cornetti has a notably strong butter aroma and a mochi-crisp bite that highlights the wheat flavor. Its saltiness pairs well with the sweeter Classic Double Tall Latte.

    Summary

The renewed Shinjuku Marui location increases seating density and removes power outlets, making PC work less convenient than before. Still, exclusive items like the Cornetti and the Reserve beverages make it a solid candidate when café-hunting around Shinjuku-sanchome. If interested, consider stopping by.
