    Just steps from Waseda Station on the Toden Arakawa Line, Kinjoan Main Store has been serving handmade soba and traditional Japanese dishes for more than a century. Established in 1919, the restaurant remains a beloved spot for locals, students, and visitors alike. We stopped by for lunch to try two of its most popular offerings—the Katsu-Don Set and Tempura Soba (Tenzaru).

    Kinjoan celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019, marking over a century of serving classic soba noodles, tempura, and Japanese set meals. The restaurant is spacious with around 125 seats, offering a clean, comfortable atmosphere despite its long history. Guests range from solo diners to couples and university students, creating a warm community feel.
