In Shinjuku Gyoenmae, there’s a ramen shop unlike any other — ‘Rahmen & Onigiri Eddie.’ Known for its neon signs, chic interior, and creative ramen menu, this shop offers both delicious shio ramen and a variety of rice balls. We visited during a weekday afternoon to experience its charm firsthand.
1. Neon-Style Ramen Shop Near Shinjuku Gyoenmae

‘Rahmen & Onigiri Eddie’ stands out with its café-like design, featuring gray tones and neon signage. The shop’s signature is shio ramen, but it also offers unique items like cappuccino ramen. Located a short walk from Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station and near Hanazono Park, it’s surrounded by other eateries such as CHATTY CHATTY and Hōen.
2. Café-Like Interior with a Relaxed Atmosphere

Inside, there are 15 counter seats, and the stylish décor resembles a trendy Korean café. Many women visit alone, adding to its welcoming feel. Orders are placed via a touchscreen ticket machine, and customers can choose from three noodle types: Wave (hand-kneaded thick noodles), Standard (medium-thin noodles), and Extra (extra-thin noodles).

3. White Sesame Miso Tantanmen & Shio Mini Ramen with Two Rice Balls

We tried two dishes. The White Sesame Miso Tantanmen (¥1,100) had a light sesame flavor with a pleasant chili oil spiciness. Large minced meat pieces added texture, and the standard medium-thin noodles had a springy bite.
The Shio Mini Ramen with Two Rice Balls (¥1,040) came with tamago (egg) and negi chashu (green onion and pork) rice balls. The egg used Amada Tokyo’s brand eggs, offering a rich taste, while the negi chashu rice ball had a sesame oil aroma. The shio ramen broth, made with chicken and kombu stock and seasoned with French rock salt, was mild yet flavorful.

4. A Popular Spot for Trendy and Tasty Ramen

‘Rahmen & Onigiri Eddie’ is a popular stop, often with a line outside. Service is smooth thanks to attentive staff. Alongside classic dishes, they serve Instagram-worthy creations like Rich Ricotta Cheese Tarako Cream Ramen. If you’re near Shinjuku Gyoenmae, it’s worth a visit for both the food and the stylish atmosphere.
