This time, we visited a newly opened curry restaurant in Higashi-Shinjuku called Curry Specialty Shop B.
Curry Specialty Shop B Opens in Shinjuku 7-chome
Curry Specialty Shop B opened on July 12, 2025, in Shinjuku 7-chome, at a location that previously operated as an izakaya and yakitori restaurant.
The shop is located near the Benten intersection in Shinjuku 7-chome, close to the curry tsukemen restaurant Tokugawazenbu.
We visited for the first time during lunchtime on a weekday.
Interior and Menu at Curry Specialty Shop B
The interior features a calm, brown-toned design, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
Both counter seats and table seating are available, and the space feels more spacious than expected.
Soft background music plays in the shop, giving the impression of enjoying curry at a café in Kamakura.
On the table, fukujinzuke, onion achar, and pickles are provided.
The menu at Curry Specialty Shop B includes:

- Chicken Curry: 1,400 yen (tax included)

Beef Chunk Curry and Chicken Curry at Curry Specialty Shop B
When ordering curry, a salad is served first.
The homemade dressing, made with onions and carrots, pairs well with corn.
Beef Chunk Curry (1,800 yen)
We ordered the signature dish, the Beef Chunk Curry.
The curry sauce is served separately in a gravy boat.
The ingredients are simple, consisting only of large chunks of beef and potatoes.
The curry has a rich flavor with noticeable spices, characteristic of European-style curry.
The sweetness of onions is present but not overpowering, while a pleasant bitterness and spiciness follow.
The size and tenderness of the beef are impressive.
It is so soft that it can be easily broken apart with a spoon, offering a melt-in-your-mouth texture similar to braised pork.
Chicken Curry (1,400 yen)
We also ordered the Chicken Curry, which is served on a single plate without a gravy boat.
Vegetables such as carrots, green beans, and potatoes are included, along with two large pieces of chicken.
The first bite delivers a direct spice flavor.
Although it has a distinctive spice profile for a European-style curry, the heat level is not particularly strong.
Compared to the Beef Chunk Curry, it feels milder overall.
As you continue eating, the sweetness of the ingredients and the white rice enhance the flavor even further.
