Introduction:
In the backstreets of Kagurazaka, just a short walk from Kagurazaka, Iidabashi, or Edogawabashi stations, Lantern Burger has been serving hearty handmade burgers since 2017. With patties and buns grilled on an iron plate right in front of customers, the aroma alone is enough to draw you in. We visited during a busy weekend lunch to try two of their signature burgers.
Inside Lantern Burger

The restaurant has 17 seats—five at the counter and twelve at tables. From the counter, you can watch the patties and buns being grilled, filling the space with a savory aroma. The interior is decorated with American casual items and unique wall art, creating a cozy and stylish atmosphere.

Avocado Cheese Burger

The Avocado Cheese Burger (¥1,460) can be paired with fries or a salad as a side. We chose fries—thin, crispy, and perfectly salted.

The burger itself balances rich, melty cheese with creamy avocado. The flavor is not overpowering, making it an easy-to-enjoy yet satisfying option.
Salsa Cheese Burger

The Salsa Cheese Burger (¥1,240) was ordered with a fresh side salad of lettuce, tomato, and apple dressed in a light mayo-based sauce.

The salsa is mild, with a tomato-forward freshness, though some may prefer a spicier kick. Overall, it feels lighter and healthier, making it a good choice for those who want a refreshing burger.

Lantern Burger is a popular weekend lunch spot with a younger crowd, often filling up quickly. Service is fast, and you can see the owner grilling patties and buns with care. Prices are slightly higher—reflecting its Kagurazaka location—but the quality and experience make it worthwhile.
